After final melt down of prolonged global pandemic, ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA/University of Applied Sciences took initiative and organized one of the most important annual events -Science Week, which took part during 11-15 April and welcomed professionals and executives from various academic and industrial fields to share their scientific insights and discoveries.
The event, which has now become a long-established tradition in AK, held 1 live and 1 virtual conference. The International Scientific Practical Conference “The Role of Higher Education in Society: Challenges, Trends, Perspectives 2022” took place on 13 April in the Assembly Hall of ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA/University of Applied Sciences, while virtual practical conference of students on applied sciences “The Role of Higher Education in Society: Student Applied Research 2022” – on 14 April accordingly.
The event witnessed great number of participants, where more than 160 authors from abroad – Norway, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey – and 13 Lithuanian higher education institutions, including 3 gymnasiums and the Lithuanian Association of Engineering and Technology Industry (LINPRA), presented 118 papers.
What is more, lecturers from well-established Turkish and Polish higher education institutions, conducted series of lectures in the fields of finance, logistics management, financial management, law, internal security systems, psychology and English during 11 to 14 April under the Erasmus+ programme. Prof Dr habil. Albertas Skurvydas led a seminar “Motion Control Innovations” for students and the Alytus city community on 12 April accordingly.
Running such events, provides wonderful opportunity to meet individuals, teams and large-scale researchers, generate new knowledge, equip oneself with the news about the latest leading-edge technologies and address rapidly changing social and global issues. It also plays a huge role when promoting the latest scientific achievements, modern educational techniques and creates so needed global intercultural dialogues.
